11/08/24: Kelsey has had her third farrier experience and was cleared for riding. She has had a handful of rides put on her, all were uneventful. We also have had her fourth round of shoes on her rehabilitated hoof and the first round on her other front hoof.
10/01/24 Trainer update: She has an appointment on 9/12 for her third round of correctional hoof work. She is willing and interested in being caught as well as understanding the ground work. Her confidence, trust and willingness has been growing consistently.
Kelsey came to us through NMLB as an estray. She had badly neglected feet when she arrived that will take quite a while to rehab, especially since she came in unhandled and not halter trained. We hope to get her comfortable with humans so we can further help her be more comfortable.
