Mick came to us from NMLB as a stray. It seems that any previous handling he had before coming to THS was not pleasant as he was extremely skeptical, difficult to catch, and very head shy. He has worked with various trainers and is better about all of that, but it’s still in there. Mick has been adopted out and returned due to a life change for his adopter but thrived while he was there as a buddy for a very dominant gelding. Mick does not do well with mares and it takes a little while for him to warm up to and trust people, but once you gain his trust he is willing and a fun horse to do groundwork with. We also believe he would be a great candidate for liberty/trick training.
Needs Intermediate Handler: Handler has experience working with reactive/nervous horses and has some problem-solving skills; has the knowledge and skill to de-escalate when a horse gets excited or scared; has some training skills and confidence using them.
