11/08/24 Amigo is a super sweet guy who has had some rough times in his life. He came in with very overgrown hooves and we have slowly but diligently been rehabilitating him with frequent trims and shoeing. He suffered from a flare up of laminitis this fall and he was recently diagnosed with PPID (Pituitary pars intermedia dysfunction or equine Cushing’s disease). He is now on medication for that and we are looking forward to his condition improving. In the meantime, he is enjoying being groomed and doing light groundwork with our volunteers, with whom he is a favorite! He will remain unavailable for adoption until we are confident his condition is under control and his hoof rehab is complete.
