Opal is a beautiful little mare that came to THS as a stray from NMLB. She has been in saddle training with our on-site trainer since this spring and has made a lot of progress. Opal is extremely smart and brave but is skeptical of new people and it takes some work to gain her trust. Once you have it, she will be a great partner.
Needs Advanced Intermediate Rider: Rider/handler is extremely comfortable around horses, is proficient in training and is experienced with unstarted/green horses. Horse is riding in snaffle, stands for saddle, basic steering/stopping/walk/trot/lope, relies on rider management (rein, leg, seat aids) to maintain speed/direction/cadence/posture, not consistent – some flightyness/bucking.
