Annual Open House

Join us for our Open House and tour The Horse Shelter’s facility, a rescue where New Mexico’s abandoned, abused, and neglected horses are rehabilitated and cared for.  The event is geared for family fun, education, and guest participation, with events that include riding demos, a photo op station, and meeting and petting some fantastic rescue horses. Learn about The Horse Shelter’s programs to provide a safe, healthy environment for horse rehabilitation. Get involved with our training, volunteer support, and adoption programs.  Brats, veggie hotdogs, snacks, and soft drinks are offered. Please join us and bring your friends and family to meet our 70+ horses for an enjoyable day at the rescue. Admission and parking are free. The event is outdoors and on rugged ground. Please dress appropriately for the conditions and bring sun protection. For the safety of the rescue horses—No Dogs Allowed.
