Charley

Charley has made some great improvements in his manners and skills, thanks to our amazing volunteers! Charley is much more respectful leading, picks up his feet, ties and is getting better with loading in the trailer. Charley gets very protective of mares and would be a better companion for geldings. He tends to be the dominant horse in his herd.

Charley has started groundwork classes with several of our volunteers and has proven to be a bit of a handful! Charley is very herd bound and has trouble focusing on anything except getting back to his friends which has made him pushy and impatient. The volunteers are working on teaching him boundaries, basic groundwork maneuvers, and patience. It will take some work and time, but we will work on teaching him some manners and help him gain confidence in himself to be a great companion horse!
Charley is a cute grade bay gelding who is friendly and enjoys attention. He is halter trained and learning groundwork. He loads in the trailer and loves to be groomed. Charley gets along best with mares and does get protective of his herd mates.
