Update July 15, 2020:

Roni is a big girl who loves attention.  She came to the shelter a little pushy on the ground but is learning important manners.  She has now been started under saddle and is making wonderful progress.  She is smart and always willing to learn something new.  Roni is still just learning the basics and has been ridden in the bull pen and arena, but not yet on trails.  At this time she would need an advanced rider.  Having experience starting horses under saddle would be beneficial, or a trainer’s help may be required.

Update June 11, 2020:

Roni is such a sweet and willing mare.  She has started her ground work training in preparation for saddling and eventually riding.  Roni seems to be smart and athletic on the ground.  She also is getting the opportunity to work with our trainer in a 60 day ground working challenge with the Forever Foundation, Plan 4 Progress.  She has really excelled with any new task introduced to her.  We are excited to see what the future holds for this big girl.

Roni is a 4 year old grade Arabian mare that was a transfer from a private rescue in NM that wanted the younger horses to have a chance at training and a meaningful life. She is friendly and with a little coaxing can be haltered and will somewhat lead. Currently in quarantine. Not available at this time.
