Grade Pony

Update January 6, 2020:

Nova was started under saddle this last summer and has really matured with more exposure and riding time.  She has been transitioned to a snaffle bit and she is learning quickly about that new kind of pressure.  While doing great in the arena, she has shown that she really loves exploring out on the trail.  Due to the fact that she is still green, she still would require an advanced rider.  Having experience starting horses under saddle would be helpful, but not required.

Update October 4:

Nova continues to make progress in her training. She now has about 40-50 rides under saddle and she is really starting to figure things out. She has been out on the trail just a handful of times, but has done a wonderful job. Some days she can act like your typical pony, but other days she is ready to learn. She is still being ridden in a side pull, but once she understands pressure and softness a little better, she will be transitioned to a snaffle bit. At this time Nova will still require an advanced rider with experience in starting horses under saddle.

Update August 13:

Nova is a cute little mare who is turning into a really fun ride. She doesn’t know much under saddle, but she is improving every day. She can be a bit fresh at the beginning of a ride, but she is learning how to slow down in all of her gaits. We are working on steering and she is getting really responsive. Nova is learning how to back up, move her shoulders and hindquarters. She has been very willing when asked new things, and seems to learn quickly. Nova will require an advanced rider with experience of starting horses under saddle.

Update May 11:

Nova has been started under saddle and has shown us there is a good chance it is not her first time.  In the next couple of weeks we will continue to saddle her and start to ride her with the hopes of turning her into an adoptable riding horse.  Stay tuned for more updates to come.

Update June 26: Nova has improved on catching and enjoys being groomed. She is doing better coming down to the groundwork area. Adoption fee: $500

Grey mare who can be haltered, but still needs some work on boundaries. Small but cute as a button and wants to be friendly.
