The Horse Shelter

Rescuing Abused, Abandoned and Neglected  Horses Throughout New Mexico

Gimme Shelter - Trainers’ Rally For Rescues

A new and very exciting event for The Horse Shelter! Nine to ten trainers will each take one of our horses for 100 days into training. They will then be shown in a fun show competition on

July 26th, 2014 the Day of the Cowboy.

Clint Mortenson has very generously agreed to include us in his event and we are really looking forward to it. What a win-win-win situation. Our horses, of which none has been under saddle, will receive the training they deserve and need to become desirable adoptee’s. Adopters will receive a great horse. The Horse Shelter will have adoptable horses and hopes they will be adopted right then and there.

We also hope to generate a lot of publicity for each of the trainers participating in the event.

They are working for free, so a great shout out to all of them for giving back to the horse world in this way. Please click here for more information on participating trainers and horses.
